Excellent porter, just a bit hoppy for me. But certainly the coffee comes through but no sweet for me, the ibus rather chop that off before it gets started. But if you *like* hoppy porters then this is definitely a must try! I still enjoyed it, hops and all.

I let this warm for close to 30 minutes to bring it up from fridge temp to a more appropriate serving temp before pouring into a tulip. Appearance is jet black with loads of thick, coffee ice cream colored head with very nice head retention. Good amount of lacing left behind as the head receded. Plenty of chocolate notes on the nose, mixed with other aromas I can't pick out specifically. Taste is nice and roasty, leaving behind a pleasant bitterness. Subtle underlying chocolate notes, but they are subtle. Fairly smooth on the palate, with medium carb and a nice medium feel. Good sipper for this fall Sunday morning.

Poured into a tulip with 2” of head with some lacing. The head faded fairly quickly. Smell consisted of chocolate and some espresso. Taste was very nice with some dry lingering flavors of dark chocolate. Light to medium body.

Deep, complex flavor profile. An imperial but not alcoholic.
