possibly my favorite beer from our visit to the amazing 5 stones, which is really saying something because all of the beer here was insanely good and very creative. this is a funky saison type with a wild yeast element and fermented with raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. the color is a rich ruby red, not quite clear but still very bright in the glass with a frothing whitish head on top. it smells incredible, with the raspberries leading the way on the fruit side ripe and tart, and a well developed farmy brett profile right there with it, very juicy and interesting, mouthwatering. the flavor is as good as the nose, and again raspberry is first. i dont think i taste much blueberry at all until it warms a bit and i can get the tang of the skins. the blackberry adds some summery sweetness, but it is the tang of the raspberry that carries this one. there is some sourness, but its only a mellow acidity, and its nice with the fruit, clean in the finish. the brett part is awesome, maybe a lambicus strain, its trending in that direction anyway, great mix of funkiness and pucker. i dont believe this was done in oak at all, which is crazy because the complexity of this is next level. high level carbonation brings it to life, and i could have had a handful of these if they didnt have so many other compelling beers on their menu here. this one was a real highlight!
