barrel aged wild saison refermented on raspberries, a beautiful beer, these fruited wild ones were my favorite beers here, but all of them were excellent! this is beautifully ruby red in the glass, not fully clear but radiant in color and brightness anyway, not much head on top. aroma is tangy fresh raspberries, really forward and natural and ripe and summery, with some light lactic pucker supporting it, and a farmy brett element as well. its not as grainy as i often like saison types to be, i dont get much more than a little pils and pale wheat, so much fruit that it seems covered up, but thats okay because this is the absolute essence of raspberry, and its gorgeous, highlighted by a lemon note to the sourness and with some red wine character in the oak that works with the berries as well. not too sour to drink a few of, medium bodied with lots of oak on the finish, and pretty clean at the end too for how funky it is throughout. really professionally made beer, one of my favorites from our visit here. these guys are killing it right now!
