I've had this both aged for a year out of the bottle and fresh on tap. This review and rating is for fresh on tap. Look is all blueberries and blackberries! This looked like an eggplant smoothie with a oddly placed light beige head. A very interesting appearance and you're just not quite sure what to expect when you drink it. I was almost expecting something in the sour family but I think that is what is so enjoyable and interesting about this offering, one of those that tastes nothing like it looks. First sip is all bourbon with a hint of blackberry bitterness. The bourbon falls to the back once this warms up. It has a cocktail juice feel to it. Overall, I'd buy more of this collab with Hay Market. Buckledown has shown me not to doubt their barrel aging program, they got good skills.
