12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 9/14/19, had 10/31/19.
Pours near black, mostly opaque, with a quarter inch foamy head and soapy lacing. Aromas of cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon, then vanilla, some chocolate, malt, maple, some oak, light char, faint bourbon, a little celery. The flavor also starts with cinnamon cubed, vanilla, malt, bourbon, some chocolate, light maple and oak, a little bitterness on the finish. Smooth, full bodied but thinner than expected, well carbonated.
While the cinnamon is incredibly dominating, the vanilla shows well and the maple fairly well. The barrels appear more in the flavor. Thinner feeling than Stone & Sea, for sure- maybe from the cinnamon? I love cinnamon, even a lot of it, but this was too heavy a hand of it. We’ll see how it ages. Enjoyable.

Amazing offering from Buckledown. Sold in 4 packs, with 2 Breakfast at Seas and 2 Stone and Seas. Smell reminds me of Oatmeal Cookies. It has a beautiful, thick, dark cascade down the glass. Taste is oatmeal, bourbon, and a touch of alcohol.
Highly recommended.

12oz can, no apparent freshness date; picked up as a 2-pack with its brother-beer, "Stone at Sea". Pitch black Imperial stout with a foamy brown head that holds great retention. Aroma is magnificent: dark chocolate, roast, cinnamon, maple, toasted coconut, boozy bourbon, vanilla, oak, and caramel. Big & boozy - definitely a sipper; great meld of flavor notes similar to aroma: dark cocoa, oaky bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, maple, toasted coconut, toasted grain, toffee, caramel, and earthy hops. Full body, ample carbonation, alcohol is warming but not hot, balanced finish with bourbon and chocolate lingering; booze and modestly bitter hops cut the sweetness perfectly. Wow - truly a treat! BuckleDown knows how to brew an Imperial Stout - this is not the first time one of theirs has wowed me. A must try if you see it!
