12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 11/18?/19, had 4/22/20.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a one inch foamy head with good retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas of vanilla, berries, chocolate, oak, light bourbon, light malt, a little caramel. The vanilla also comes to the front in the flavor, then roasted malt, berries, chocolate, bourbon, some caramel, some oak. Tastes of some earthy hops and there’s a fair amount of hop and malt bitterness. Smooth, a very good full body, well carbonated.
The vanilla is pretty dominant here. Not as roasted feeling as the original, but close. The berries are good, although I could not distinguish between them. This grows on you, it’s a good effort.

(3/3) Not as dark black as the others, brown foamy head. Sickly sweet beery puree and vanilla crash the bourbon and chocolate party, odd combo, fine on their own, but together don't really jive. This is even more true in the taste, way too sweet, strangely tart, and then hot and roasty. Feel is slightly acidic, tart, roasted, and generally a mess. Worst of the bunch, none as good as the orignal

12oz, canned on 11/18/19. Pitch black body with a thin brown head. Excellent aroma of dark chocolate, oaky bourbon, sweet berry, roast, and vanilla. Dark cocoa loads the palate, while notes of raspberry, boysenberry, charred roasted barley, boozy bourbon, oak, burnt caramel, vanilla bean, and earthy hops round out the flavors. Full body, ample carbonation, alcohol is warming but hot at times; I'm finding the finish to be harshly acidic with bitter roast and alcohol biting the tongue. Overall, good but the finish takes away from the experience. I do like the berry and vanilla addition.
