12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 11/19/19, had 9/14/20.
Pours near black and opaque, with a half inch foamy head and light foamy lacing. The aroma starts with lots of chocolate, then roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, some bourbon, light char. The flavors are similar- chocolate, cocoa, bourbon, vanilla, malt, some caramel, light char. Smooth, a good full body, appropriately carbonated on the lower side.
This has the most barrel presence of the three variants, and like the others, has a less roasted feel than the base beer. Great chocolate, surprised how much vanilla comes from the barrels. This is best fully warmed. Very enjoyable.

(2/3) Matte brownish black opaque body with a finger of brown foam. Best of new variants in my humble opinion. Various chocolates swirl around the bourbon, darker wood, earth, and slight caramel. Taste adds molasses, slight raisin, and general malts, however the chocolates continue to lead the band of rebels. Feel is moderately lighter, with series hallmark warm booze and malt smoothness.

12oz, canned on 11/19/19. Dark brown/near black body with a tall brown head. Boozy aroma with lots of chocolate & cacao nibs filling the nose; roasted barley, boozy bourbon, oak, and earthy hops also. Smooth and sweeter flavors: dark chocolate, cacao nibs, dark malts, rasted barley, bourbon, oak, vanilla, frosted chocolate cake, and earthy hops. Full body, modest carbonation, alcohol is warming, nice balanced finish. My favorite of the three variants. Great beer!
