12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 11/5?/20, had 6/24/21.
Pours near black and opaque, thick looking, with a quarter inch foamy head and a little light foamy lacing. Aromas of almond- lots, vanilla, malt, chocolate- more as it warms, some caramel and oak, a hint of bourbon. The almond smells like flavoring, which is ok. Flavors of bourbon, almond, malt, chocolate, salt, some vanilla and oak, light caramel. The almond also tastes like flavoring- again, that’s ok. Smooth, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.
The almonds smell and taste like amaretto, which I find favorable. While not as roasted as the OG, this really pulls together and is well balanced. Very enjoyable.
