The strong ale is a blend of a barrel aged milk stout that has been aged in FEW barrels for 24 months. Then a barley wine aged in Quincy Street barrels for ten months.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Released 10/13/23, had 2/17/24.

Pours a dark cola color that’s a little ruby in the light, mostly opaque, with a brief head and speckled cling. Aromas of bourbon, malt, caramel, rye whiskey, some chocolate and brown sugar, some oak, light vanilla. Flavors of bourbon, rye whiskey, caramel, malt, some vanilla and brown sugar, light chocolate and oak. Smooth, a good medium body, appropriately carbonated.

This is a good blend of styles, with a good barrel presence and many distinct aromas and flavors. Has a little bit of a lighter feel than expected. Very enjoyable.
