Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of brown sugar, citrus fruit, and candied citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus fruit and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but nothing too memorable for the style in my opinion.

On tap in a local bar in Hilo, Hawai'i. Appearance was golden with nice-sized head and beaucoup lacing. Smell was simillar to night flowering ugli fruit and pomegranates. Mouthfeel was smooth, malty and bitter. Taste was nicely balanced between malts and hops with a delicious lingering bitterness. Definitely a good brew for the style. Worth buying and drinking on frequent occasions.

Had it at on tap at a beer tasting of local Hawaiian beers.
Appearance: Golden Amber with some good lacing.
Smell: Apple cider like.
Taste and Mouthfeel: Crisp with a slight hoppy flavor.
Drinkability: Very easy to drink and you could def put back a few of these. Very good.

A: Slightly hazy orange/amber color. Poured a 1 finger off-white head with fair retention. Decanted lightly.
S: Grapefruit, citrus and wet grains.
T: Bready malt. Caramel and lemon rind. A little resiny floral hop character in the middle. Flowery hops linger a little through the bitter in the finish.
M: Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. A little resiny and coating. Fairly dry in the finish.
D: Pretty good. Not very bold.
