It is so hard to find a nice, non-imperial, non-coffee, non-chocolate, straightforward stout these days, so we did just that. Mike Mraz's longtime homebrew friend, Greg Tornberg, shared with us this delicious recipe. We brought him in, tweaked the recipe a touch, and out came our first ever stout. The rye gives this beer amazing mouthful, but it is still super easy-drinking. There is enough chocolate and roast characteristic to make it extremely flavorful without being heavy or sweet. A go-to beer, even in the hot Sacramento summers.
