Heavily soured with lactobacillus and finished with Saison yeast, this beer is light, easy-drinking and nicely tart. The addition of heaps of purple plum give this beer an amazing rich pink color and vibrant fruit flavor.

Purple Plum pours a light and hazy pinkish-purple with with a small, loose 1-finger head that quickly dissipates. The smell above anything else is funky, due to the Saison yeast, with a soured aroma, as well as some soured plum. This is the first sour I've had with such a big funk to it. More noticeable in the taste then on the nose. It's a bit tart with the soured plum, but also has a small vinegar component.

The beer pours out a full on hazy light purple color, with 1 finger of pink head, it looks amazing in the glass--------------- the aromas are of over ripe plum and lactic acid, not a lot going on but it smells wonderful------------------- the flavors are of sour candy up front followed by sour plum, purple starburst and light vinegar, the beer has a medium mouthfeel with a smooth finish----------------- overall this beer was delicious, it's a great fruited sour very juicy and refreshing

Appearance - Pours a pink-purplish color with a pink, quarter finger head that dies rather quickly to reveal a mostly barren surface. A handful of small spotting makes up the lace.
Smell - Stomach acid, plum, more stomach acid.
Taste - Follows the nose. Plum and gastric acid. Finish is much the same with sour-like acidity with some lighter plum notes that linger well into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light bodied with light, bitey carbonation. Dry finish with a sour impression left behind.
Overall - Yeah, the more I drink sours, the more there's a funky stomach acid character to them. Not all of them have it, but this one does for sure. While it's not disgusting or completely off-putting, it's not something I look for in my beers, sour style or not. Lord knows I've had many sours that don't hit that "sour stomach" tone with me.
