Collaboration with Moksa Brewing Co
*California State Fair Medal Winner
The first of our five anniversary collaborations, Muddy Brew Buddies was developed and brewed with our friends at Moksa Brewing Company! This delicious Imperial Stout will bring you back to days of cozying up by the fire and enjoying this tasty homemade treat of Chex Mix intertwined with peanut butter, chocolate, vanilla, & powdered sugar. We decided to emulate this age-old classic by brewing with lots of wheat and adding peanut butter, cacao nibs, & vanilla. A big beer, but still nicely balanced, Muddy Brew Buddies was the perfect treat to kick off our anniversary!

Appearance - Pours dark like motor oil, with dark cola brown edging when held to light. Tan, finger width head that holds with fair retention before dying to a thin, broken layer of suds. Some broken webbings, lines and a handful of spots make up the lacing.
Smell - Fudgy chocolate, booze. A hint of peanut butter?
Taste - Chocolatey, super roasty and a strong boozy character upfront and throughout. Molasses and anise come in mid-taste. Peanut butter is noticeable, but rides beneath. Hint of vanilla creeps in on the finish and lingers in the aftertaste, along with chocolate and roasty bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Full-bodied with low-to-moderate carbonation. Firm, slightly creamy texture, but surprisingly smooth and clean from start to finish.
Overall - Interesting imperial dessert stout. Maybe drinks closer to a classic imperial stout than the super sweet pastry stouts that are being brewed over the last few years. I don't know if I'd pay $9 for another can, but I enjoyed this one.
