El Guapo Negro - Bourbon Barrel Aged

El Guapo Negro was first brewed in 2016 for Pangaea Bier Cafe during Sacramento Beer Week. It was such a hit, that we decided we had to do a barrel-aged version for 2017. This beer begins as Operias Imperial Porter, a nice, rich, traditional brew. We then age it in bourbon barrels for 6 months with a handful of habaneros and vanilla beans. The end result is a complex brew with the rich flavors of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a hint of heat on the finish. This may be a one-time brew, so make sure to try it while you can!
