The Gift - Bourbon Barrel Aged

A Belgian beer in a bourbon barrel? That's not something you see everyday, so we decided to give it a go! The Gift is our Imperial Golden Strong, a nice, rich Belgian brew. Since it is already such a big beer, we thought it could definitely hold its own in a bourbon barrel. We aged it just a couple months in barrel, to give it a hint of bourbon without being overpowering. The balance of fruit and a touch of sweetness from the base beer balance out the high abv and barrel nicely. It is one of our highest alcohol beers, but definitely doesn't drink like it. Be careful with this one, the first one will go down so easy, you'll want a second!
