Most Imperial Stouts are referred to as Russian Imperial Stouts because the style was originally brewed for Catherine II of Russia, but why play into norms we say! Coercion, our American Imperial Stout, is just what you would expect from this style, but with our own twist. This brew is big, robust, and full-bodied with strong notes of chocolate and coffee from the heavy amount of roasted malts used. It has a vibrant nose, rich flavor, and just a touch of heat on the finish. Amazingly balanced, this beer is uncommonly approachable for the style.
