A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2014, so it's a bit out of date. Hope it's still OK. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. A collaborative brew between the Bad Seed and Revolutions breweries, this is described as a West Coast red ale hopped with Summer and Galaxy (Australian varieties).
A: Poured into a cervoise. Bottle conditioned. A deep, hazy reddish-amber hue with faint sediment and medium carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of fruity hops with hints of mango, tropical fruit, citrus, melon, mild white grape, caramel malt, ale yeast and faint stewed hops. Deliciously hoppy.
T: Tastes of bright, fruity aromatic hops with a crisp bitter finish. Notes of mango, tropical fruit, citrus, white grape, melon, mild grass, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, followed by a zesty, hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with soft carbonation and good body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, leafy bitterness, caramel malt and earthy yeast.
O: A tasty brew with a satisfyingly hoppy character. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are a lovely mix of fruity hop notes, caramel malt, ale yeast and bitterness. Nice balance and decent body. Could perhaps be a shade livelier. Goes down all too easily - an excellent Oz-inspired ale.
