A 330ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2014, so it's a bit out of date. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. As the name suggests, this is an American IPA hopped with Citra and Zythos.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy orange-amber hue with plenty of fine sediment and good carbonation. Produces a massive head of creamy white foam that lasts for a while before subsiding to a nice surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of intensely fruity hops with hints of clementine, mild grapefruit, citrus, white grape, a touch of melon, grass/hay, earthy yeast, subtle grainy malt and faint stewed hops. Very nice.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a strident bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, white grape, melon, grass/hay, earthy yeast, subtle spice, mild grainy malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a robust, hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of citrus, bitter aromatic hops, earthy yeast and faint malt.
O: Tasty - another delicious success from Bad Seed. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are seriously hoppy and laden with citrus and fruity notes. Earthy yeast underpins the hop character. Good body; could be a shade livelier. All too easy to drink - well worth sampling if you have the chance.
