Poured from the tap into a pint glass. Beer pours pitch black with very little light brown head. Smells of sweet grain with chocolate notes. Tastes of nice roasted grain with sweet berry and other fruit with slight coffee. Beer is light bodied and very easy drinking. Overall, a very good beer.

Near opaque. Jet black. Medium to full nose with deep roasted chocolate malt and bitter hops. Well-balanced porter. Deep dark roasted malt. Mouthfeel is creamy and rounded.

Red Eye Porter tastes roasty and bitter with some coffee flavor. Dark but not quite opaque, slightly reddish hue. Could have been more complex but not bad.

Served from 22 oz bottle purchased locally in mt. airy, MD. Poured into an imperial pint.
A: Dark & opaque with several fingers of pillowy light tan head. Lacing that sticks around for the entire glass.
S: Molasses, sweet bread, and hops.
T: Very hop forward for a porter, mildly sweet, with a solid malt backbone. The hops and the malts, however, don't play well together. The hops dominate at first with the malts showing up on the finish, but the flavors do not complement each other well.
F: Good Medium body, carbonation slightly prickly carbonation.
O: A decent porter from a really cool brewery.
