Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.
Beaming body color. A deep dark cherry red, with mixes of light raisin brown fills the glass nicely, and gives a wonderful ruby glow. Head is a super creamy and light khaki to tan color, with whipped up topping like appearances and a clumpy but soft lace and top. Excellent impressive looking beer.
Impressions keep being made on the nose. Excellent soft cherry and dark berry like aroma fills the nose, almost jam but with a more tea like sweetness mixing in. Soft sensing malt depth, and touches of light possible candy sugar, but an almost taffy light and herbal berried tea mix that is very inviting.
Excellent first sip. Mild sensing fruit, but a wonderful warm and soft bodied malt, with mild touches of caramel and Belgian sweetness. Subdued funk, and a touch of hay. Excellent mineral finish, crisp yet dense with a wonderful mix of tight fizz and soft taffy flavor and feel. Fruit angle is a bit mellow, less pronounced on the palate than the nose, but goes more into darker berry than the cherry like aroma that permeates so nicely.
A really nicely done fruited Biere de garde, and stays away also from being overly fruity. Very nicely done here.

A nice French Saison (biere de garde). Blackberry is noticed in flavor, with a dry clean finish. A touch tart, no sourness, perhaps a hint of horseblanket aroma but if it is there, its not out front. Well made.
