It does not require the Fathers of Science Fiction to alert you that after partaking of a bottle-conditioned Martian Spring, your life will surely change. The prominent hop character of Columbus, Simcoe, Citra, Galena, and Centennial hops crash lands with the light, fruity esters of a Bière de Garde yeast. Oak wine barrels served dual purpose as vessels for the month long fermentation and maturation, as well as dry-hopping capsules. The invasion begins as you embark on your own thrilling wonder story.

A - Dark gold color with a thick frothy lacing ring that's very sticky on the glass and lots of tight, tiny bubbled carbonation.

S - Delicate citrus, oak, and dry fruitiness.

T - Bitterness from start to finish. sweet cedar, earthy, and delicately tart.

M - Sprightly, prickly, and tons of carbonation that dies down to a creamy texture and finish. Very dry.

O - Alot of cedar and dryness. A style that will take some getting used to (for me).

There is a lot of text on this bottle but I don't see a bottle date.

Appearnace: The body is a light straw color and it is too hazy to see through. The head is a billowy white cloud with a creamy surface. There is some lacing on the glass. Very good head retention.

Aroma: It has that old barnyard aroma with some light souring aromas of old pears and water soaked hay. There is also a scent that one could only describe as the way leaves smell in the late fall when they start to break down.

Taste: Up front there is this very large burst of flavor that mixes cedar, some earthy hop resin, a bit of urea, and a grapefruit bitterness. This flavor follows through to the end and it crescendos to a stranglehold of bitterness right at the finish. It has this very bitter and acidic finish which is pretty unique.

Mouthfeel: It isn't often that I find a mouthfeel that is actually unique but this beer really is. It gives the impression that it will be a bit sour but it is not. It is more of a bitter feeling beer which is unique.

Overall: I found this beer to be very interesting. It is not the kind of beer that I would keep stocked and drink regularly but it is one that I would highly recommend to people who are either looking for something new or looking for something intriguing. It is rare to find a beer that gives as much mental digest as it does to the body. I am genuinely glad that I bought this beer.

From a bottle, pours a cloudy and light yellow/straw color. It is very carbonated with a large fizzy head.

The nose is earthy wheat grains, barnyard funk, lemon, a little yeast and spice. The flavor has a nice hoppy citrus component to it. Nice grapefruit notes, white pepper. I don't get much barrel on this, it is absent. The finish is very tangy fruit/citrus flavor. Good, above average, not great.
