Looks like a pilsner or light wheat beer.
Strangeways indeed.
OMG smells and tastes like gas station hand soap!
With a lot of fake lemon thrown in.
Gold color.
1/2" light colored carbonated head.
Very tart fake-lemon smell and taste.
Couldn't rinse it out fast enough!

Picked this up in Virginia this past summer on my way home, finally getting around to it tonight. Very nice design on the label and I have to admit that this was the first beer that I've had from Strangeways. It was a typical Berliner Weisse that almost felt like a Gose, because of how smooth and easygoing it was. A bit of sour and the feeling of a salt chaser were enough to confuse me a bit on the style as well as there was just a bit of tartness in the aftertaste as well.
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was golden, hazy, and had plenty of carbonation to top it off. The thin consistency of it ensured that there wouldn't be much lacing, which was this brew's only drawback. Lemon, raspberry tartness, and acetic vinegar filled the nose with all of those coming out more in the taste. Sour, balanced, and lively, this had plenty of bubbles to keep it clean as very little stuck on my palate. Some lemon juice, basic bready malt, and raspberry juice softly emerged but in the end, this was an easygoing brew that was readily accessible; even while offering nothing memorable in particular.
It was nearly a given that this would be a true session beer in every sense of the word as it was nearly impossible to detect the alcohol in this. An underlying slickness coated my teeth once I finished this off as the finish was just a bit dry. A great take on the style, the German-styled moniker was a nice touch for this, as it was just as good as anything of the sort that I've had from overseas. Bottled, on 6/25 of this year, this was truly a year-round beer if there ever was one!

A: A pale yellowish color with a dirty rose tint and slightly of white head.
S: Very tart smelling brew, with perhaps a touch of berry and finish is vinegar.
T: Aggressively sour at first, puckering with a vinegar like acidity. Berry flavor follows the pucker with a bready note as well. The sourness does diminish a but as you keep drinking.
M: Light and crisp with moderate carbonation.
O: Overall a crisp and refreshing.. perhaps one of the better brews I have had from this brewery.

Strangeways at it again, yo! These guys always take a style and do it well! This Berliner Weisse is no exception. Fruity and tart, some lactic tang that blends well with a touch of wheat flavor, and finishes dry. Über rad, brew!
