On tap at brewery:
Pours an ever so slightly orange-tinged golden, but with nice, sustaining white head, even some lacing.
Nose is lightly fruity, peach, apricot, pear or similar. There's also a strange stale note that I hesitate mentioning, almost like wet grain, because it's underneath the fruit nose.
Taste is a bit more fruity than malty up front. I sorta like the switch, but not sure it's to strict style. Bitterness is subdued, but does counter the opening tastes with a lightly grassy bitterness. Little lighter carbonation than expected, but not much lighter.
An interesting take on the style, and to me, not a straightforward interpretation. Evidence to my point is that my GF said this was an enjoyable Pils (style she doesn't generally like). I think it was missing the dry biting bitterness of a Czech Pils. Maybe a bit closer to a German Pilsner, so I'll give it that benefit.

my man olavzisper is always crushing my porch with Virginia love. This and a few others from strange ways showed in my most recent box. Enjoyed from a beer hunter session glass (willie becher).
Brew pours sienna orange with a really nice frothy and foamy finger plus of head. As the head faded, massive milkshake like chunks of lace clung to the glass.
Nose is deep rich pils with some nice hoppy spiciness. Caramel malt swims in the back of the nose.
Taste is a really vibrant crisp spicy pils. Hoppy spiciness grabs me at first and then I'm washed over with grainy earthy malt before my palate is left with the piny spiciness with hints of bitter on the finish.
Full bodied pils. Really nice and worth checking out. Dug this one a bit more than their neighbor's from lickingholecreek that I had yesterday. Both were great beers, this one had more of a bite to it which worked for me.
