Wow, you really have to be in an experimental mood for this one; very burnt coffe roast taste and noted tequila alcohol and heat, didn't pick up the chilis though; interesting attempt, to be sipped only; alcohol really comes through, might be worth trying again, I'm not completely ruling it out at this point, but as of now, not a fan.

Was excited all week to try this as I cannot get my hands on Mexican Cake. My first impression was that I had received the wrong beer. My second impression was anger. Complete letdown...no presence of heat or tequila. This may be the beer that prevents me from ever visiting Strangeways again. I wasn't going to rate this, but now that someone finally added it to the site, I suppose I have to. Just very sad all around.

Cinnamon, chocolate and chili pepper skin in the nose. Although this is finished with ghost peppers, it's not spicy at all. A nice dry, sweetness rounds out the cocoa with a hint of smoke. The tequila barrel works incredibly well with all these flavors. This Tequila Mexican Cake light.
