Strong extreme full bodied stout. Thick, rich, dark tan head is an indicator of what's to come. Roasty, chocolate and coffee finish and a bit bitter on the front and middle. While bourbon barrel aged, it does not have a strong bourbon taste but it is in the back ground. Creamy mouth feel. I wish it were smoother and more balanced with its flavors. A bit less burnt on the grains.

I was really satisfied with this one - had it from the tap at Strangeways, and subsequently in a snifter from the large bottle. I found that it goes surprisingly well with seafood (e.g., steamed clams), and is obviously great on it's on. If you're a fan of Breakfast Stout and are looking for something new, try this out.

Look - Dark as dark
Smell - Subtle bourbon
Taste - Although slightly on the sweet side, KBBAA has balanced barrel character and strong chocolate notes from the brilliant base beer.
Feel - One of the beer's strong points! Thick and viscous.
Overall - It's hard to believe this is Strangeways' first stab at a BA imperial stout! One taste was enough to convince me to snag a few bottles despite the steep price. I would absolutely buy this again.
