Bay State Brewing Co. "Madam Rhubarb"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a hazy golden-orange body beneath a short head of hite foam. I can tell that it's well carbonated by all of the bubbles rising within. The aroma is clearly of raspberry with just a little mineral and malt behind it. The taste is all raspberry as well. There's some malt there as well, and some mineral character, but it's mainly raspberry and it seems authentic - if they've used extract here they've done an incredible job. It's not bitter but it's definitely tart with a pH of 4.0, leaving it dry in the finish. It's quite refreshing. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp with acidity and a gently zesty carbonation. The head fell almost immediately, which is to be expected in a sour beer. Overall this is a really well done fruited kettle sour beer.
