Craftissimo

When I cross the bay from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, I am sure to stop by Craftissimo each time, picking up a variety six-pack to take with me back to the mainland. On each occasion, I am able to get an assortment of both Hong Kong Craft Beers as well as some other International ones, including (but not limited to) New Zealand and France. Moreover, I am greeted at the shop by knowledgeable staff who help me in the selection process, especially with regards to the HK ones.
If you find yourself in Hong Kong and want a few bottles to enjoy there or take back to wherever it is you are from, I highly recommend Craftissimo, as they always have a great selection and pleasant vibe...

I happened upon this place by chance shortly after arriving in Hong Kong which was the last leg my 5-city China trip, so the circumstances of my visit had a big impact on how I felt about the place. Having said that, it was exactly what I was looking for after spending nearly two-weeks in the beer wasteland that was mainland China.

The space is very small but there was an impressive bottle selection, with beers from all over the world. Being a tourist though, my main focus was on the local stuff. The staff was friendly and recommended some Moonzen brews they had on hand. I grabbed four of their main offerings and was not disappointed, the recommendations were on point.

I returned once more before I had to fly back to the US to see if there was anything worth smuggling onto the airplane. Once again, the staff came through with a recommendation of the Moonzen Four Beauties seasonal release. They even helped bubble-wrap and box up the beers so they'd be safe on my flight back. Despite worrying all 15 hours about having a beer-soaked bag at baggage claim, the packing job was solid and the beer made it in one piece. Now if only I hadn't waited until Dark Lord Day to crack those 4 Beauties I may have remembered how they tasted.
