Poured into snifter from giold-waxed 650 ml bottle.
Look - pours deep brown color with about a 1/2" khaki head. Retention is low and there is a bit of oily lace.
Smell - bourbon, molasses, caramel, some bitter chocolate and a hint of barrel/woodiness.
Taste - some darker malt and a bit of dark fruit. The booze comes through a bit on the back end as well as a little bitterness.
Feel - nice heavy, thick body. Viscous-like. Low carbonation, oily, coating finish.
Overall - not bad. Not a bourbon bomb like some BA stouts. Flavors are nice.

poured 22oz bottle into chalice.
A - Black as night in color with a 1.5 finger tan head that retains a bit before fading into a thin ring, no lacing on glass.
S - The aroma is pleasant. Starts off with hints of vanilla and bourbon with caramel and roasted malt. There is a dark chocolate aroma with notes of dark fruit.
T - The roasted malts in the stout have some chocolate, caramel, along with hints of dark fruit flavor. The barrel brings flavor of vanilla, bourbon, and marshmallow. There is a bit of heat on the finish.
M - Soft carbonation, medium body with a sharp finish.
O - This turned into a decent BB stout that reminds me of the early Central Water BB stouts.

Pours a thick black with a small tan ring.
S: Bourbon and thick chocolate malt. Grainy, sweet cocoa.
T: Dark chocolate, coffee grounds, light cherry-like tannic tartness, corny bourbon on the back-end.
M: Thick, light carb.
O: I normally avoid Mobcraft but this beer is actually really good.

Gold wax. Petrichor aged in EC12 barrels, Riley's exclusive. Served in a snifter 2/1/2015.
A- Dark brown, a bit muddy, cola-coloured but not pitch black. One finger mocha head that dies down very quickly, not much retention or lacing. Becomes quite placid quickly.
S- Smoky sweet bourbon, charcoal, smoke, oak. Lots of bourbon barrel here. A bit of chocolate and cocoa, coffee but this is definitely barrel heavy.
F- It's the same story on the palate, lots of oak, charcoal and bourbon flavours that seem to be a bit diluted by the chocolate and cocoa flavours of the base RIS. No dark fruits or vanilla. Just smoky bourbon. Not bad by any means.
M- Thinner bodied, almost straight up thin. Carbonation is on the lower side. Finish is a bitter earthy flavour mixed in with a bit of that bourbon smoke.
O- Decent BA RIS, it's more of an American IS in terms of the base beer's character. The barrel is heavy and contributes most of the flavour. No off flavours that I can detect, so if you like a RIS that is heavy on the bourbon barrel, this is worth picking up.
