Limited bottling of 265 17oz. bottles.
After having seconds of the Sour Golden Ale at the Great Taste, I was excited to try this seemingly related wild ale. It’s ok, but the Sour Golden Ale was far better in all aspects.
Pours nearly still, a few large juice bubbles cluster on the surface before quickly disappearing. A thin strand of white foam around the edges, a saturated bronzed orange tone.
Nice aroma of oak, lemon, and cider apples.
Taste is puckering acidic lemon apple, mild cheese rind, some aftertaste of oak in the dry finish. Some trace acetic acid. Brett funk is subdued, yet it does put off some traditional lambic notes.
Medium bodied and still like unblended lambic. Pleasant enough but it could use some spritz. Overall it’s pretty good but i’d encourage a comparison with the Sour Golden Ale. These beers are way better than anything else i’ve had from Mobcraft, which i’d almost completely forgotten about.
