Medium black pour with a brown cap that turns into a collar quickly. Roasted malt meets the barrel in smell and taste. In the smell this balance is nice with earthy and hints of toasted caramel and almost cinnamon-like accents. The taste is over roasted, and while the barrel is actually really pleasant the malt and barley consume so much of the palate's attention instead of melding together. Feel has good but not boozy barrel character, roast textures are not overdone like the taste, malty and medium bodied

Part of Stout Fest 2020 Virtual Tasting. Poured from a can (2020 vintage) into a tulip. Pours pitch black with a small light brown head. Smells of coffee with bourbon. Tastes of coffee and chocolate with nice bourbon finish. Beer is full bodied yet dangerously smooth, good carbonation. Overall, a superb beer.
