Enjoyed a 0.33l bottle at De Drie Dorstige Herten in Utrecht on 25SEP16, costing me €5.80.
This bier was a deep, opaque chestnut/mahogany color. Had a nice, frothy 1/2" tan head, which fell back quite slowly, with solid lace left in the glass. Smelled of rich caramel with dark fruit like raisins and currants. It was pretty smooth going down, and had a medium body.
Flavor had some sweetness present, along with raisins, dates, a hint of brown sugar and even some subtle vanilla. Reminded me somewhat of brown bread soaked in rum - quite interesting! The finish was a little rindy and floral as well. Rather enjoyable!
