Got this from the brewery. Cheers!
From a can into a snifter
Experimental A blend of Cryo Hops (TR12304CR)
In collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops
APPEARANCE: Pours a half finger, medium looking, creamy white head with good retention. Hazy amber orange with no carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a faint wisp and ring. A splotchy wisp remains leaving touches of lacing down the glass. Solid.
SMELL: Melon aromas, honeydew, cantaloupe, some light grapefruit and pineapple, as well as some hay and piney notes on the nose. Medium strength.
TASTE: Honeydew melon, cantaloupe, some tropical notes, passion fruit and some light bitterness at the swallow. More flavorful than the nose had indicated. Bold finish of melon, pineapple, tropical flavors, passion fruit, as well as some piney bitterness linger after the swallow. Hints of caramel sweetness and notes of hay as well.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a bit dry. A touch of bitterness lingers.
OVERALL: Solid. Good looking and the flavor is plenty enjoyable. VdS has been cranking out nice IPA brews over the last while and this one fits right in. Worth checking out if you get the chance. Cheers!
