Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 33cl can into a snifter
Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout
APPEARANCE: Clear dark brown pour yields a one finger, medium looking, light brown head with great retention. Head slowly recedes to a full, creamy cap. Bistre brown body with plenty of carbonation evident.
SMELL: Plenty of bourbon on the nose, with caramel and butterscotch, milk chocolate, vanilla cream and some leather and tobacco notes on the nose. Plenty of umph on this one. Lots of barrel character.
TASTE: Plenty of booze and alcohol on this one. Bourbon and wood up front, with a boozy shot at the swallow. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla and toffee as well. Bold and boozy finish of bourbon, oak, vanilla cream, milk chocolate, some sweet caramel and butterscotch, as well as some potent alcohol linger on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, slick as well, goes down fine with a big burn after the swallow and finishes rather sticky. Lots of heat lingers.
OVERALL: Good stuff. Not mind blowing and quite boozy, but a solid BA stout from vandestreek. I think I'd go for a couple of their superior BA stouts first, but this is certainly a solid choice.
