Got this from the webshop. Cheers!
From a 33cl can into a snifter
Beergeek Special
Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout
APPERANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a two finger, medium looking, creamy and fluffy light brown head with great retention. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly fades but has great staying power.
SMELL: Smells like red cool-aid. Cherries and whisky with woody aromas. A touch of vanilla with hints of milk chocolate, but this is mostly red freshie (Canadian reference).
TASTE: Red freshie, with notes of milk chocolate and hints of vanilla up front. This is really cool-aid-like. Lots of booze at the swallow with a bold finish of red cherry freshie, whisky, some woody notes and plenty of booze.
PALATE: Medium-full body with medium carbonation. Creamy and plenty of weight on the palate, goes down fine with a decent burn and finishes quite sticky on the palate. Plenty of heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is rather gross. Freshie was great as a kid, but this 14% stout version is not what the Cool-Aid company ordered. The look and feel work, but not something I’ll be able to finish. Blech.
