Ildjætten is an Imperial Stout with Barrel-Aged Stout & Rum coming in at 9.5%
Ildjætten is inspired by Surt, the fire giant from Muspelheim, destined to engulf the world in flames at the end of days.
This Imperial Stout is blended with a barrel-aged stout and enriched with rum, creating layers of dark malt complexity, oak warmth, and smooth sweetness. The result is a deep, full-bodied beer with a fiery soul — rich, smooth, and perfectly warming for the winter ahead.
A fitting finale to the series — powerful, elemental, and unmistakably indulgent.
Part of Ølsnedkeren’s Norse Mythology Series.

Copenhagen 2/12 2025. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Drawing of a a fiery fire giant on the can hovering over an icy landscape.
Pours opaque dark brown with a huge light beige head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick frothy lyer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. Massive lacing.
Aroma is intense with a pastry like sweet and sugary odor mingling with a healthy dose of sweet and dark alcohol. Brown sugar and chocolate cake. Lactose. Dark rum. Whiff of sour milk.
Light carbonation. Rather thick, viscous, oily, soft, a little sticky, creamy, fat and almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a rather heavy sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a prominent sweet undertone. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry with a boozy burn.
A very sweet and cuddly Fire Giant. But with a bitter and boozy afterburn.
