Poured from 12oz can into a kitchen glass. No date on the can, but I did pick this up at the Steel String taproom in Carrboro.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a minimal haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam atop.

Smell: rather on the sweet side, with a floral hop aroma that reminds me more of a pale ale than an IPA.

Taste: like the aroma, a bit sweet and floral, although something about the balance here is off. There’s like a sharpness to the hops here that just doesn’t complement the malt well. Not my favorite.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer isn’t awful, but it doesn’t really work for me.

Pint on draught at the brewery. It pours a hazy, bright tangerine color with a half finger of fluffy, bright white head and creamy lacing. The smell is fruity and features lemon, lime, and tangerine, along with notes of wheat cracker and floral hops. The taste is not as fruity as the nose would imply. Rather, it's quite dry with lots of wheat cracker and Pilsner malt. While I can taste some tart citrus, the sweetness I smelled does not appear in the flavor. It has a moderate feel with good carbonation, and the 6.7% ABV gives it substance without weighing it down. Overall, I liked Big Mon a lot. It has the feel of an IPA but the taste has a Pilsner aspect. Very easy to drink.

Freshly kegged at the Steel String Brewery.
Nice head that dropped quickly with some nice lacing. Orange color.
Tastes juicy, grapefruit citrusy.
Mouth feel medium and balanced.
I will definitely order again and again at the brewery.
A very fine example.

Look: It pours golden and clear with a white head. Head retention is good.

Smell: It has aromas of citrus, floral, and pine. It has light aromas of bread.

Taste: The flavors are pine and citrus forward with the floral and the bed more in the background.

Feel: It has a medium body with a good bit of bitterness without the harshness.

Overall, the flavors work well together with the bitterness not being harsh it is also easy drinking.

L - somewht hazy, orange tinged with gold, frothy head that leaves a good deal of lacing.
S- hoppy, citrus, grass.
T - grapfriut, watered down orange juice, good balance between sweetness and lingering bitter aftertaste.
F - Smooth, very smooth.
O- One fine beer. Very drinkable. I really like the fullness of the mothfeel combined with the citrusy flavors.

Pours an opaque, hazy orange, small amount of off-white head that dissipates pretty quickly. Leaves behind nice, sticky lacing. Resin, woodchips, bit of malt on the nose, some pine. Not as juicy as the label predicts, but this has some nice flavor, slight caramel without going overboard, bitter pith and citrus rind. Mild carbonation and a smooth, rich mouthfeel. Very enjoyable beer.
