Our take on a traditional black lager, crisp and slightly sweet with mild bitterness.

12oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours an almost opaque black with a one-finger foamy khaki head that quickly reduces to a ring around the glass
S- roasted malt, sugar smacks cereal, herbal coffee, chocolate, rye bread crust, caramel, light herbal/floral hops
T- dry roasted malt up front gives notes of herbal coffee and bitter cocao. Mid-palate brings out a hint of caramel sweetness, as well as some herbal hop undertones. The finish gives bread crust with more roast and bitter chocolate on the linger
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel that finishes slick

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark chestnut brown + dark amber colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy tan head that quickly reduces to a large patch of very slightly mottled thin film covering approximately 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of roasty + toasted + bready + caramel malts with minimal amounts of caramel sweetness. Light aromas of coffee and lager yeast. Light aromas of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasty + toasted + bready + caramel malts with light amounts of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light flavors coffee and light flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are light flavors of earthy hops. There is a slightly heavier than light amount of lingering roasty bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp initially with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly crisp + light + dry mouthfeel. Enjoyable with nice roasty flavors and aromas. I could have a couple of these.
