This London porter keeps things simple; full bodied with rich toasty aromas and a dry finish. If this beer were the September Issue, malt would be the cover star. Layers of roasted notes weave together to give Fashion a strong, unfussy character.

L- Inky black. Pours with a 2mm dark tan foam cap that is mostly gone after a minute.
S- A deep coffee/cocoa smell.
T- Follows the smell^ with some added charring and light smoke. The smokey aspect seems to grow in profile as I sup on.
F- It's fully flavoured and fortunately it's 6.5% is sufficient to provide enough heft in the body/feel to underpin it without this beer being in any way rich/sweet.
O- I bought this as it's new to me and I like the Porter style. I feared it would go the hipster 'crafty-can' route of being unbalanced -> too rich/sweet or bludgeoning in the hops department; it's not. It's well flavoured, very well balanced with nothing sticking out of line or balance. It's a bit brighter hops-wise than an old-school 6.5% porter might be but only a touch. Bottom line, it's well made, very enjoyable, unlikely to offend beer-heads of more mature years. Would I drink it again? Certainly. Would I buy it again lol.... hmmm, perhaps.
440ml can £4.40 Bought from 'Made in Little France', London W2. Canned: 071021 BB: 071022. Can describes it as a classic porter containing eight malts.

440ml can. Black with a fluffy, tan colour head. Black treacle becomes fresh brewed coffee as it warms. Tastes of sweet espresso, dark chocolate and Black Forest gateau. Full bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Bitterness is light. A rich and moreish sweet coffee porter.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, creamy, mocha-colored head. Smells just lovely of quite roasted malt, herbal hops and lighter notes of chocolate and coffee. Taste is a great balance of quite roasted, lightly caramelly malt, coffee, chocolate and herbal hops. Finishes rather dry, with a medium bitterness and some roasted malt, coffee and herbal hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I've said this before, but Pressure Drop do these down-to-earth, no frills stouts/porters focused on a roasted, dry and bitter flavor profile so well, which are unfortunately becoming somewhat hard to find these days. This just features and excellent balance of roasted malt, light caramel sweetness and dry and bitter hops, with some coffee and chocolate rounding everything out. Body and mouthfeel is perhaps just a little thin, but really not too bad for the style.
