We’ve drawn inspiration from our European friends for this very special lager. A clean pale malt character is paired with delicate Strisselspalt hops grown in the Rhine Valley. S’Gilt!

An exceptional lager. Looks fantastic with clouds of microbubbles rising to a thick, long-lasting foaming head. Alluring, delicate, floral aroma. Tastes of white bread, honeysuckle and white wine. Full body with a rich mouthfeel and a soft, dry finish. Carbonation is much lower than its appearance suggests. An export strength pilsener with a beautiful honey character.

L- Mid-gold, clear, pours with a 1Cm white head (holds up pretty well).
S- Very light, just some grain.
T- [1st beer today/clean palate]. Bright hops of the Pils style that linger and develop on the palate. Then I notice the pretty solid meaty malty body coming in.
F- 'Like a Pils with added balls'. The higher body makes this more versatile (seasonally) that some of the more austere pilseners.
O- Pleasantly surprised. I see 'Pressure Drop' and I think = hipster, over-hopped, austere, thin, $$. Then you see the labelling and it's uber traditional style; what to think, are they being ironic here? Which way will this go? I was pleasantly surprised it's very drinkable, well out of the hair-shirt hipster style. Nothing to criticise really except the price. Nice beer but for that reason ($) there is not quite enough special/different to justify buying it again.
