Copenhagen 11/8 2024. 44 cl can from The Beer Hive, Amagerbrogade, Kbh. S. lack can with colorful butterflies. Pours opaque dark brown with a big off-white head. Fluffy and stable. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is rather intense with a strong odor of dark roasted malts mingling with earthy and sourish fumes Dark malts, roasted coffee beans, toffee. Whiff of compost and sour milk.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate sourish bitterness Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a whole. Finish is dry.
Pleasant and pretty intense for a sessionable Stout.

440ml can.
L: Very dark brown with a ruby edge. One finger of mocha head leaves a spiders web of lacing.
S: Smokey and rich. Soft, not strong.
T: Chocolate and roasted malt flavours. Nicely bitter. No hop characteristics (as it should be).
F: Smooth as velvet with a dry finish.
O: Really great English stout. Toasty, dry and moreish. Excellent balance and complexity.
