This beer is our homage to those early holiday mornings. An Imperial Stout brewed with coffee, chocolate and peppermint, makes this is the perfect beer for the holidays…especially with Uncle Eddie around.

12 ounce can - Woodstock Beer Market by the Stout Brothers in Woodstock, Georgia.

Perhaps there was a user-error with the date coder, but instead of a best by or canned on date, I only get the message ensuring me this was "canned". Thanks, fellas.

Appearance: Pours a black-toned body with a churning, frothed, yellowed-beige head. Meager lacing.

Smell: Its aroma comes up far, far short-- a basic roasted malt with a faint hint of mint additive with not perceived chocolate or coffee to be found.

Taste: Dark, roasted malts with a scant, effluvium sweetness. A hint of toast flashes by, but please don't wait on the aforementioned coffee or chocolate, as they won't be found in any appreciable quantity whatsoever. A slight, low hint of mint additive lingers in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: I had it several years ago and found it to be pretty solid. This canned offering years later, though, woof, pretty damn embarrassing. Skip!!

Bottle poured into chalice glass. I am a fan of peppermint and thought this would be interesting. Dark pour with midest carbonation and little head that guickly fell away. Chocolate and modest hints of peppermint. Taste is medium but had a metallic taste that lingered; not sure if I had a "skunked" bottle or what. Not enjoyable

I've never had beer with mint in it before. However, it actually kind of does work, or at least with this stout. It's like eating a less sweet, Thin Mint cookie.

Like Andes Mints in a glass. Not much coffee but huge cocoa and mint notes. Nicely roasty with perfect balanced attenuation and just the right level of carb.
