This Export Stout presents a full, dark roasted malt nose and balanced bitterness. Charging ahead with notes of coffee and chocolate, this well rounded stout brings some warmth to the season. We think Major Horton would be proud.

A: Dark black, opaque, thin head that does not hang around, decent lacing
S: Roasted malts, not much nose to it probably a product of the nonexistent head
T: Coffee, chocolate, not a sweet as I expected more bitter
M: Medium, really velvety smooth, not much carbonation
O: Im not as familiar with this style of stout but I was expecting a little more when it came to nose and mouthfeel. I usually like a sweeter stout and this one does not really fit that description. Some people probably prefer a more bitter stout and this one is for those people.

look: Very dark, nearly opaque brown. Thick light tan head on the pour that mostly recedes. Lots of messy speckled lacing.
smell: Full and roasty. not a lot else but quite good.
taste: Similar to the nose. Simple profile but quite good.

16 ounce pint - $6.75 at Taco Mac in Woodstock, Georgia.
Appearance: Near black body in hue with a small-sized, airy, beige head. Good lacing.
Smell: With a gently smoky, lightly ashen roastiness there is paired some unsweetened, bitterish chocolate, a mild estery dark fruitiness and a little hint of hops.
Taste: Firmly roasty with a crust of bitterish chocolate and glaze of molasses. A softening light hint of cream. Lightly sweet. Smoked prunes, some light bitterish hops. A little blackened grain astringency showing on and near the drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It's fine. They have this done up with coffee and peppermint for the holiday season -- can I have that one?
