12oz bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 2.09. Best by 11/13/16, I assume bottled 5/13/16. Served in a Wicked Weed snifter.
Pours an opaque and very pale lemon yellow with a little under two fingers of white head. The froth dhrinks back to a central island and frothy belt that leaves only a few patches of lace.
The smell of big, sweet, inviting pear greets my nose along with bread and some faint banana. I'm liking the pear.
Flavors of whole pear, white grape must, clean malt, fruit skin and a peppery kiss of spice. Goes down very easily and again, the pear makes this particularly inviting.
Crisp light body with zesty carbonation. Aftertaste of pear and a little bread.
Jekyll has a great idea to entice me into drinking a style that I typically pass on. The light, refreshing drinkability of the kölsch with the sweet balance of pears works quite well. This is a great hot weather brew.

From 12 oz bottles (in 2016 and 2017)
Large white head over a pale light yellow body.
Disappointing aroma but the flavor is notably better.
More vague light fruit than specifically pear flavor, but this is appreciated and helps to make this a refreshing light ale.

12 ounce bottle - Bullock's Wine & Spirits in Marietta, Georgia.
Best By: 11/13/16.
Appearance: Pours a delicate, straw-hued body, minimally hazed and with an inch of white suds. Some active carbonation.
Smell: A fair, clear scent of pear is chief in the aroma, over the very mildly bready maltiness.
Taste: As with the nose, the pear leads the flavor. A bit on the sweet side, a touch of cereal. Minor touch of grain, a bit of herb, yeast. Semi-dry, crisp finish with the pear flavor remains uninterrupted into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: The pear adds a nice twist to the Big Creek, already a good, easy-drinking beer.
