An enjoyable English Brown Ale. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer featured a medium brown color with lots of reddish light coming through. The white head is foamy with better than average retention and there is filmy lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste are right for this style. Slightly sweet bready malt, some toffee and nuttiness and a touch of mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium rich and smooth. At 6.3% .abv, it is a bit strong for a session beer, but it goes down nicely!!!

Nice to see a brown ale that isn’t pushing to be an American dry stout. The color hints that this might be the case with a light ruby hue to a medium dark brown body. An off-white collar forms from a frothy head.
Nose and taste lean a little sweet, but not greatly so. Aromas are medium toast with a bit of breakfast bread is nice. There’s a hint of either spice or something fusel, but light enough to not be distracting. Flavors are similar to the bread notes with the addition of some nuttiness and a little banana. A lightly spicy bitterness adds to the oily nuttiness before a fairly clean ending closes the medium bodied ale.

Great to see a brewery have the kahunas to take on such a subtle but coveted style. Served at the proper serving temperature, the layers of this ale peel back with each sip. A bit bigger than its counterparts but still just as drinkable. Very well honed into the English Brown Ale, so much we dare to call it a session beer even if it does carry a bit more heft to it. Very well put together.
