L: Pours dark walnut/chocolate, forming a moderate tan head that fades slowly. Leaves behind a healthy bubbling layer of retention on the surface and a robust ring of bubbles around the edge of the snifter. Held to the light, this beer has a near-black, opaque umber hue.
S: Rye barrel and dark chocolate. Some roasted malts and a hint of oak. Balanced by vanilla and a hint of caramel.
T: Rye barrel, followed by some roasted malt, caramel, and oak. Light char. Dark chocolate and vanilla, with a sweet, boozy finish.
F: Medium- to full-bodied. Smooth, silky mouthfeel with very light carbonation.
O: Very good AIS, excellent flavor profile and very drinkable. The various aromas were difficult to tease out but this is a must-purchase for any stout drinker.

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a quickly fading beige head; leggy with some streaks drizzling down
Smell: Caramel-laden Bourbon tones dominate with chocolate and vanilla aromatics supporting
Taste: Burnt caramel forward with hints of chocolate and vanilla emerging; through the middle, the Bourbon grows to dominate; slightly boozy finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: Across the board a better flavor profile than the Baker's; smoother, more mellow and a touch more carbonation; a masterful BA stout

The beer does not pour any head except for a bit of brown foam that forms around the inside of the glass. However, more foam seems to pop up everytime I take a sip. The beer itself is dark chocolate brown that looks really nice. It also has a thin looking texture to it.
The smell is really good. It has a strong bourbon note upfront with chocolate notes and bitter cocoa note as well. It also a sweet caramel and vanilla note too.
The taste is excellent. It has a strong bourbon note upfront followed by a sweet chocolate and bitter cocoa note alongside a sweet caramel and vanilla in the finish.
The feel is good. It has a heavy body and the texture feels silky with very little carbonation.
Overall, a delicious and very good beer worth getting.
