This Nut Brown is brewed with English Ale yeast. In English tradition, we use only English Fuggle hops, which are low in bitterness and produce a mild floral hop taste. The complexity of this Nut Brown is created mainly by the Chocolate and Dark Chocolate malted barley. There is a roasted coffee flavor with hints of chocolate and nutty or nutmeg finish on the back of the tongue. This Nut Brown has the widest spectrum of flavors of any Nut Brown on the market. Pairs great with steaks and sauts.

Dark brown with Auburn and deep reddish notes.
An amazing mix of roasty, toasty, caramel, coffee and chocolate flavors.
Feels slightly slick but light and very drinkable.
Overall I'm impressed with this brewery.

Dark, mahogany brown body with a dense, creamy head. Rich, roasted grain aroma; nutty. Very pleasing mild chocolate flavor; cocoa; very subtle bitterness beneath a gentle sweetness. Medium body; soft and velvety; mildly sweet finish.
It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a good brown ale, and this beer is it. The beer is well-balanced and flavorful, subtle by many of today's standards of 'in your face' beer offerings, yet thoroughly satisfying and pleasing.

Bone Chiller Brown ale
12oz bottle poured into Duvel tulip. No date or similar markings stamped anywhere on bottle or label.
Appearance - Pours medium tan head with decent retention sheets of lacing and medium stick. Body is clear but is dark brown enough to be functionally opaque. Even a back light only shows a mahagony glow. 3.75
Smell - Coffee, wood fire, leather. 4
Taste - About as typical as a brown can get. Pretty smooth and easy going for the type. Possibly a bit thin. 3.5
Mouthfeel - Has a bit of a bite upfront, but a thin body with a watery mildly astringent finish. 3.75
Overall - Probably a better session brown ale than Newscastle. 3.75

An enjoyable beer, but not on target for the style, in my opinion. Analyzing as an English Brown Ale, I find the appearance as the strongest aspect. The aromas and flavors are lacking in basic malt character and are overly roasty for the style, and also don't have any of the English yeast notes I'd expect.

Described as a English style brown ale this drinks like a light porter. Smooth from start to finish with very little bitterness.
Really nice. Light enough for summer but enough body for any time of year.

Taste-- I’m getting some chocolate syrup notes—not like milk chocolate, or like bitter, dark chocolate, more like chocolate syrup without much of the sweetness. Something coffee-like. Hints of mild sweetness.
Look--Two fingers thick on the head. Quickly diminishes down to less than a finger, and then is gone. Dark, dark beer. Looks like soda pop in the glass.
Overall--Very drinkable. It’s somewhat rich, but not overwhelming.

A: Dark brown, black, opaque, thin khaki head, good lacing
S: Chocolate, sweet bread malts
T: I get the chocolate, and the malts, no hops
M: Medium
O: A really good beer in my opinion. Easy enough to drink with a great taste and decent amount of smell. One of the better brown ales that Ive had.
