Our double hefeweizen is brewed in the Bavarian tradition with notes of silky smooth vanilla and banana topped with a hint of clove spice but... It's a bit bigger at 7.2 ABV.

ZenAgnostic nailed the overall review so I'll keep this simple: Delish. If you like Belgian style brews with some sweetness, spiciness, and those banana-y esters this will please for sure. Only debits are a very very slight amount of funk on the nose (maybe the slightest hint of a lager note?) and that sweetness could use a tad more bitterness to offset. Having said that this is a super premium tasting double hef that could easily be mistaken for one from Europe with a MUCH higher price tag. Complex, yummy yeast, tiny bubbles, big but not overly boozy. Proud to be a New Mexican!

12oz bottle poured into Duvel tulip. Picked up from the grocery store as part of a $10 sixer mixer. 051121 printed on the bottom side of the bottle, presumably the born on date making it a month old. So it should still be fairly fresh.
Appearance - Pours a decent one finger white head with decent retention, even lacing and stick. Left some yeast on the bottom of the bottle. We've got a live one! 4.5
Smell - Banana. Hazy to the point of opaque, medium yellow - with the tiniest touch of orange - body. Smells like a fairly standard if actually well made hefe with a lot of alocohol. Maybe that's exactly what it is. 4.5
Taste - Great standard hefe with an extra kick of alcohol. Very well hidden though considering. Actually the more I drink it, the more pronounced that alcohol is becoming. Not bad though. Okay somehow I barely just realized it's a double hefe which is why it has so much alcohol. Wow I'm slow. And buzzed. 4.5
Mouthfeel - Smooth, creamy, your standard well made hefe. Good medium body, no lame wateriness to it. 4.5
Overall - Pretty legit. Well crafted. No real flaws. Not exactly amazing but very well done for what it's aiming for. 4.5
