The beer, unfortunately, arrived in a heavily iced glass, on a chilled coaster. Once it warmed a bit, the appearance was very dark, nearly black with frothy head that waned with time. The aroma was darkly roasted malt mixed with bitter hops. The flavor mimics the the aroma. Non-distinct and a little hollow through the center. Average brew.

Stuck in ABQ airport on a 5 hour delay and the only spot with sit down only offers the Sierra Blanca line up.
I ordered a couple flights of everything, served in 4 oz tasters.
After having the IPA this pretty much has the same mouthfeel. the color is different, a dark almost black and tan look. I do smell some slight roasted malts mixed with the pine and grapefruit.
Much like the Pale and IPA this brewery doesn't slack on carbonation. Again, no depth or deep flavors; blindfolded I couldn't tell if this was a Black IPA from an IPA.
All around not too bad, but not something you would go crazy over. When combared to fuller body Black IPAs like Self Righteous this really doesn't hold up.

Served to me with a small light tan head that settled into a pretty decent head above a dark reddish amber colored beer.
Roasted grain malts out weigh any hops aroma that comes off this beer.
A dry tasting beer with some hops presences and quite a bit of roasted malts present.
A lingering dry aftertaste with the roasted malts staying in the forefront.
A pretty much liked this beer but it tasted more of a cross between a brown and porter and not an IPA.
