A Full Pint poured from a Brew Gentleman growler into an East End glass. #meta412
A: Murky, bright yellow…a few SRM's short of IC Light. Looks like you dropped an alka-seltzer into some Turner's Lemonade.
S: Whiffs of horse funk, green cheese, Crystal Light lemonade, caramelized grapes, rabid squirrels, and the inbound Liberty Tubes. Its a Berliner…possibly faint grain and some lemon drop candies but …#allergies.
T: Starts with a moderate amount of lemony . Carries a bit of that kettle-soured reflux profile, like having one too many slices of Fiori's before laying down on the couch and watching old Steelers highlights. The tartness lingers moderately before hitting the brakes sharply like a white woman approaching the Squirrel Hill tunnels, fading into a starchy nothingness a la Primanti's fries.
M: Thin and crunchy, like the residents of Lawrenceville. Not offensive, unlike the residents of Lawrenceville.
O: If beer styles were Kennywood rides, the Berliner Weiss would be Noah's Ark. Satisfying in its simplicity, but not worth waiting in line for - though sometimes it's just nice to get out of the sun for a bit.
Definitely earns a spot in the upcoming "10 Sour Beers to drink in Pittsburgh" list on Thrillist.

Pours cloudy yellow with an off white head. Flavor is mildly tart and mildly sour. Citrus is on there in accents. Smooth feel and almost soda like, in a way, which I have found somewhat typical of smaller breweries when they do this style. Extremely easy to drink. Very much a beginner's Berliner. Which means if you are looking for something with a sharper profile, this probably isn't the one you want.
