Penny Dreadful is a malty full bodied amber ale cloaked in black malts producing a wicked tasty black ale. The name comes from 19th century Britain where short, often lurid, fictional tales were printed on cheap paper and sold for a penny. The character Sweeny Todd made his debut in an 1846 Penny Dreadful titled The String of Pearls.
